Tom Naymik Instructs Groundwater Flow, Transport, and Remediation Course

COLUMBUS, Ohio—Geosyntec’s Tom Naymik, PhD, PG, along with Ohio State University professor Scott Bair, PhD, recently instructed a course offered by the National Ground Water Association in Westerville, Ohio.  The session, “Principles of Groundwater:  Flow, Transport, and Remediation,” examined the concepts, theories, and procedures in hydrogeology.  Instructors led discussions on the movement and occurrence of groundwater, transmissivity, hydraulic head and gradient, aquifer test procedures and analysis, water-quality characterization, solute transport, plume configuration and delineation, capture zone analysis, groundwater modeling, and remediation techniques. 
 
Tom is based in Geosyntec’s Columbus, Ohio, office.  His career spans over 30 years with specialization in subsurface characterization and groundwater remediation, fate and transport of contamination, and model design of groundwater flow and contaminant transport.  Tom earned his PhD and BS in geology from Ohio State University as well as his MS in geology from Louisiana State University.
